Who Is Jack Kruse, and Why It Matters That You Don’t Dismiss Him
This is Part 2 of 9 in the series The Healing Machine That Forgot How to Heal. In Part 1, we put a viral hospital monologue on the table. Now we look at the man delivering it.
Before we weigh the message, we look at the messenger.
Jack Kruse is a real neurosurgeon, trained at Louisiana State University and a veteran of Gulf South practice. In 2007, after a personal health crisis (357 pounds and a torn meniscus), he walked away from conventional practice and rebuilt himself around an obsession with light, mitochondria, and circadian biology. He wrote Epi-Paleo Rx in 2013, runs a longevity clinic in Florida, and has a large audience for his “decentralized medicine” message: take your health back from the system.
He is also, fairly stated, a controversialist. His framework blends legitimate chronobiology with quantum-biology speculation that mainstream science considers unproven. His rhetoric about technology often outruns his citations.
Here’s why that matters. It would be easy to dismiss the hospital critique because of the messenger’s excesses. It would also be wrong.
A discredited messenger can still carry a true message. The honest move is harder: keep what the evidence supports, discard what it doesn’t, and notice that the supported part is enormous.
We don’t worship the speaker, and we don’t burn him. We check the claims.

Next up, Part 3 of 9: The Part That’s Proven. A 1984 study in Science showed that a window can change how fast you heal. It’s the strongest evidence in the whole series.
