TLDR please stop asking your doctors for Ozempic/Trulicity for weight loss! Type 2 diabetics are suffering thanks to some very wealthy celebs mentioning that they use these injectables to lose weight.

There is currently a nationwide backorder for these medications! ⚠️ pic.twitter.com/uwm5t3WOHg
So my hubby’s Trulicity is on back order because non-diabetics are taking it for weight lossπ‘ People need this to LIVE, & you gain the weight back when you stop taking it, so for the love of God don’t take it from people who need it! pic.twitter.com/B0mUUkGCYT

I’m diabetic (Type 2, but the type really doesn’t matter). Doctor wanted to put me on Ozempic but she couldn’t because lots of non diabetics took all the supply for weight loss. She put me on Trulicity, which I now also can’t get for the same reasons. For fuck’s sake.

Diet culture has thousands of barely overweight people taking diabetes injections to lose weight; meanwhile, actual diabetics can’t get access to these meds to live. It’s sick.

Meds like ozempic, trulicity, etc are being used by people to remove their appetite for weight loss.
I wrote about the Ozempic shortage for Glamour back in September. Now it’s Ozempic, Trulicity, and Mounjaro experiencing shortages due to doctors prescribing the diabetes meds off-label for weight loss. https://t.co/kfDVkifFLH

Just listened to a pharmacist lie her ass off to a Trulicity patient. Told her they don't make it anymore. The case is much much different. The truth about Trulucity is Dr's are giving prescriptions to rich people as a weightloss product which must be much more profitable.
