Simulation Fatigue
There’s a weariness in the air.
You can feel it.
In conversations that trail off into nothing.
In the vacant stare at the glowing screen.
In the strange ache behind the eyes after too many tabs, too many feeds, too many filtered realities.
People are exhausted—
But they don’t know why.
It’s not just lack of sleep.
It’s not just the grind.
It’s not even the stress.
It’s simulation fatigue.
We live in a world layered in fiction:
Virtual meetings with pixelated faces.
AI-generated news.
Social media reels looping like dreams you didn’t choose.
Friends you haven’t seen in years, but their faces haunt your scroll.
Conversations that never get deeper than emojis.
Everything feels real enough—
but not quite.
Like living inside a game someone else is playing.
And maybe we are.
Simulation theory suggests this could all be code—
A carefully crafted illusion.
A digital stage where we perform identity, pain, purpose.
But whether that’s literal or metaphorical doesn’t matter.
The effect is the same.
We’ve become detached from our own experience.
Our thoughts are borrowed.
Our emotions outsourced.
Our attention hijacked.
The world keeps spinning,
but we feel like shadows in our own stories.
You’ve probably said it yourself:
“Time feels weird.”
“I don’t know what day it is.”
“Nothing feels real anymore.”
That’s not coincidence.
That’s symptom.
We are overstimulated and underconnected.
Digitally saturated, spiritually starved.
Surrounded by information, but lost in meaning.
The line between dream and waking life is thinning—
and we’re burning out in the blur.
But here’s the key:
You’re not broken.
You’re not lazy.
You’re not crazy for feeling this way.
You’re just waking up inside the simulation.
And waking up is hard.
So what do you do?
You pause.
You touch something real.
You unplug—not just your devices, but your mind from the noise.
You ask harder questions:
What do I believe that isn’t mine?
What am I doing that isn’t living?
Because the real trap isn’t the simulation—
It’s forgetting that we still have a choice.
To feel.
To think.
To remember we exist.
So breathe deep.
Smell the earth.
Say something that matters.
That’s how you tear the veil.
That’s how you re-enter reality.
